Aino Bubble Dress PDF Sewing Pattern
Aino Bubble Dress PDF Sewing Pattern
The Aino Bubble Dress is a comfortable sleeveless, pullover dress with a shift top and bubble hem, designed for every season and any budget. In warm summers, it is best sewn in a crisp poplin or quilting cotton. In colder months, you might prefer it in a corduroy, velvet, silk dupioni, or taffeta.
This pattern comes in two views. View A features a full circle skirt, which creates a more voluminous “bubble,” whereas View B features a half circle skirt, with a little less volume. If you make View B, make sure to use a fabric that has some stiffness to showcase the bubble skirt in all its ballooning glory but is also easy to gather using a gathering stitch.
The bodice has minimal ease while the skirt has plenty of ease. This project is well-suited to the adventurous beginner who wants to make a garment that looks impressive but is fairly simple to construct. It is the perfect opportunity to learn how to install side seam pockets and bias facings.
